How strength training works

Strength training works by gradually challenging your muscles with resistance, encouraging them to become stronger and better able to cope with everyday activities.

When you exercise, your muscles are placed under controlled stress. With regular training, rest and recovery, the body adapts by improving muscular strength, endurance and control.

At Ramsbury Fitness, strength training is tailored to your individual starting point, experience and goals. The focus is on safe, effective movements that can help improve everyday activities such as lifting, carrying or climbing stairs.

Whether you are new to exercise or returning after a break, a personalised programme allows you to progress at a pace that works for you.
